“To reach a port, we must set sail. Sail, not tie an anchor. Sail, not drift.” -Franklin D.Roosavelt
Last weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of going away with 5 other women. 5 other women that I didn’t know. 5 other women that I am now friends with. 5 other women that inspired me, lifted me up, and made my heart full. 5 other women that got to experience the amazingness of Tuckerton Seaport
in New Jersey!
Tuckerton Seaport is seriously a hidden Gem, that has soared from very little, to an amazing destination!
If you haven’t heard of Tuckerton before. This historical site is located at the center of the Jersey Shore directly on Tuckerton Creek. They focus on community programs and high impact educational opportunities. The seaport includes 15 buildings with hands on exhibits, a boardwalk, lighthouse, coffee shop, and more!
This year, TuckertonSeaport/Beach Haven launched its Water Ferry for its first full season! The trip across the bay takes about one hour, and you get an eco-tour while in transit. The pontoon seats 24 passengers and is free of charge; however you can reserve your seat in advance for a $5 nonrefundable fee.
I had the absolutely pleasure of going on a Sunset Cruise as well as breakfast on the bay. The sunset cruise includes a fabulous Dinner (oh, so fabulous), as well as a sunset cruise. It was a full harvest moon, and it was stunning!
Breakfast on the bay (another fun experience) was incredibly educational and delicious. The Ferry (with your tour guide) brings you to a wonderful spot called The Dockside and then takes you back to Tuckerton all while learning about the eco-system.
Following our amazing breakfast we got to explore a bit. There’s an awesome education center which is sponsored by Rutgers. Totally interactive. Schools and kids alike go there to learn about the beautiful area.
Another fantastic “hidden” spot on Tuckerton’s property is the amazing Lady Magpies tearoom.
One of the woman I was With was raving about this spot and when we got there I understood why!
Not only, was it incredibly themed with three separate spaces but it was a classic tea room! We got invited for scones and desert and got to choose our tea! I chose the Chai, and oh my…it was amazing! The scones were to die for (I had the toffee scone) and the deserts… I am dreaming about them still!
The tea cups were perfect and I just can’t get over how amazing this little place was! I truly can’t wait to bring my daughter here!
There is so much more to do then meets the eye! From museums, to kayaking, to weddings (yes, we witnessed a wedding), to a delicious cafe (their bikini bottom French toast- a MUST)…Tuckerton is fantastic!
Tuckerton Seaport is an attraction you do not want to miss! If you vacation on Long Beach Island, hop of the Ferry and see what it’s all about. I know I will absolutely be bringing my family back. It’s seriously just a hop, skip, jump away from New York!
