The Mom Recharge

by - 7:13 PM

From the  Dictionary of Merriam-Webster, the definition of recharge (verb) is to “1: to make a new attack 2: to regain energy or spirit”

My son is 15 months old and my daughter is 8. My husband works at least 60 hours per week. The house work, running the children around, volunteering for the PTA...this is my life. What is recharging for a mom? Any mom? For the stay at home mom, or the working mom?

Everyone has a different form of recharging. Whether it is getting their nails done, going shopping, being alone in the bathroom for ten minutes or staying up to watch their favorite television show.  I needed a full re-charge. A re-charge of my mind, my soul, my spirit, and most importantly my well being. In the past, Whenever I would see a group of moms going away for a weekend I would be jealous but think how it wasn’t in my cards at this moment. How could I leave my babies?

This past weekend, I got to go away with 5 women. 5 fantastic, wonderful, beautiful, kind, brilliant women that I DIDN'T KNOW! I had never met one of them in person and it was one of the best weekends I have had, possibly since becoming a mom almost 9 years ago. It was the most soul searching, inspiring, educational weekend and I am thrilled I went.  From the  Dictionary of Merriam-Webster, the definition of recharge (verb) is to “1: to make a new attack 2: to regain energy or spirit” I did both of these. I have a “new attack” in my business, and in my life and I also regained energy!

I truly, whole heartedly needed this last weekend. I actually had no idea I even needed it that badly! I not only made some life long friends and did some awesomely fun things (go visit  Tuckerton Seaport- more on that to come) but I came out Refreshed. My soul feels better, my mind feels better, and my heart feels whole, and most important I am RE-CHARGED.
